Grupo Consorcio strengthens its commitment to sustainability, driving international expansion and responsible innovation
· The company maintains nearly 100% MSC sustainable certification for its Cantabrian anchovy and increases certified yellowfin tuna sourcing to 94.8%.
· Its Santoña plants have successfully passed the double SMETA 7.0 ethical audit, reaffirming best practices in labor rights, environment, and ethical conduct.
· In October 2024, the firm was awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal, consolidating its position among the top-rated companies in sustainability.
· The opening of its own subsidiary in Milan has boosted its international expansion, strengthening its presence in the Italian market and enabling greater supply chain control.
Grupo Consorcio, a leader in the canning sector with 75 years of history, has presented its 2024 Sustainability Report, a document that details its significant progress in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) matters and reinforces its commitment to a business model that blends tradition, innovation, and sustainability.
The company is a benchmark in sustainability, being the only B Corp in the canning sector with international presence and the only company with this recognition in Cantabria. Having maintained its B Corp certification since 2019 and successfully achieving recertification in 2024, Grupo Consorcio continues to demonstrate its commitment to high standards of social and environmental performance. The company also played a key role in the official establishment of the B North Community in April 2024, fostering the impact economy at the local level.
