Grupo Consorcio, a leading Spanish company specialising in premium tinned and semi-preserved fish products, closed 2025 – the year in which it celebrated its 75th anniversary – by consolidating its growth and achieving a gross turnover in excess of 126 million euros. The company also strengthened its commercial development in its two main strategic markets, Spain and Italy, where it recorded growth of 4 per cent and 6 per cent respectively, confirming the soundness of its growth strategy and its commitment to the premium segment.

Against a backdrop where consumers are increasingly opting for higher-quality products with a distinct origin, Grupo Consorcio continued to strengthen its position in the premium segment thanks to the strength of its brands, the quality of its products and the operational excellence that characterises the company.

In Spain, the Consorcio brand increased its sales by 10 per cent, in a market where the anchovy category remained stable in value whilst shifting towards higher value-added products. Furthermore, the company consolidated its leadership in northern bonito, following the recovery in demand for this category, and maintained its leading position amongst tuna brands.

International operations once again played a key role in the group’s performance during 2025. With a commercial presence in 43 countries, more than 800 employees and 59 per cent of its turnover coming from international markets, Grupo Consorcio continued to make progress with its internationalisation strategy.

Italy once again established itself as one of the main drivers of the company’s international growth. The Italian subsidiary exceeded €34 million in turnover, with growth of 6 per cent, whilst the Consorcio brand increased its sales by 4 per cent. Furthermore, Cantabrian anchovies remained the most dynamic segment of the Italian market, reflecting consumers’ growing preference for high-quality products with a distinct origin.

Meanwhile, the export business for Peruvian anchovies was affected in 2025 by the shortage of catches recorded during the fishing season. However, the company is already seeing a clear recovery in both sales and profitability for this activity during the first few months of 2026.

"2025 has been a year of consolidation for Grupo Consorcio. We have bolstered our leading brands, strengthened our presence in strategic markets such as Spain and Italy, and continued to make progress with a strategy based on quality, provenance and excellence. We look forward to 2026 with a positive outlook and a growth plan that will continue to drive innovation, international expansion and the company’s premium positioning,” says Jesús Gómez, CEO of Grupo Consorcio.
